Natural Abyss
From corner to corner
She screams at the top of her lungs
Waiting for a pillow to shut her up
Roses pile up in the grave that holds her love
She misses
The very skin that once held her
Sounds, sighs, songs, soundly shaken spooked
A heart raises from the grave all brown with dirt
A smile
She quiets and laughs
At last he has come
His return
Her pillow, her dream awoken from death
In her mind he’s alive once more
Taking her back with him to the black shore
Silvery green electrical currents of stormy seas
Whispering words only the non living can hear
Outside of her imagination…
In a hospital in a room
No one stops to look her in her eyes
Shaking awaking from the coma she was in
Why have they stolen her from the beauty the place where she had just been?
Formality keeps them from concluding that because of love she will die
Psychology says she’s mentally ill
No medicine no remedy nothing can fill
The death of her love and her life
Pupils, minds, hearts, legs, bodies, cars, racing
Up and down
Lanes of memory
All out of her
Coming alive
Going inside once more
They hand in hand are getting closer to the shore
Drips of ammonia fall from the sky
Her heart is slowly beating
And she’s wondering why
Until it becomes nothing but a straight line
She smiles that last smile her muscles will ever take
They’re Knee deep into the water
And now to face her groom
She lifts his veil
His face a hole into another room
A game of hide and seek
Climbing in she tumbles out
Back in the hospital once more
So far far away
From the deadly shores
Whispering waving whimpering whines
You can hear the echoes through the waves of time
Far out to where there is no more
Because no one is there to see that what happens to be
She circles the bed of her own body
Discussions, arguments, discoloration, cognitive surroundings
Whatever it means, she’s gone all the same
Bored with life
The news of her death
She jumps back through her loves face
Her love, her death
Death she wanted, death she took
Hand in hand with the consequences
Waist deep
She jumps upon the body
The groom
Her death
Ready to hold her breath
And forever swim through the depths of the dark green sea
While the clouds above hold it all together
Shuts it up
Her pillow
Her dreams
What she wanted to see
Who she failed to be
